Coincidentally, Aidan Turner used to shoot at Chavenage House (The Priory in Rivals)
Chronology
It follows Rupert Campbell-Black and Tony Baddingham as their long-running rivalry rages on. The same filming location was also used to depict Trenwith House in the BBC film adaptation of Poldark in 2015.
I was nervous too ~ because I loved the books
When I first saw Rivals come out, I squealed with excitement. 5 minutes into the first part and I was hooked.
The clothes, the makeup, the music ~ what a soundtrack
Every episode is fast-paced, there’s never a time you’ll get bored or feel stretched, as is often the case with many of these miniseries. The characters are all unique and so well played, the acting and casting is fabulous.
This series is fun, daring, colorful and nostalgic
I understand the frustration with the 'look' written by Rupert. but it’s not really a big deal, and I don’t think it has any lasting effect.
More to come please
It doesn’t disappoint at all, and we can take a moment to appreciate David Tennen, who once again plays the “evil” brilliantly.
